Students are introduced to the concept of buildings that adapt to their environment, before being challenged to build either an earthquake or hurricane resistant tower. 

A budget is given, with each material having a different price, so teams of young people must use their funds carefully to build the tallest tower, which is then tested with a fan (hurricane) or vibration plate (earthquake) to see whether it can withstand the environment.

A fun series of engineering challenges where young people must build bridges of varying styles and strengths using a set quantity of materials, including constructing a wooden keystone bridge and bridges of their own designs using Lego. 

In addition to developing their practical skills, students will use soft skills such as teamwork, problem solving, creativity and listening as they learn about different types of bridges around the world.

Students learn about codes, what they are and their use in society, before attempting to crack a series of codes, each one requiring a different technique to the last. 

Each code gives a clue to unlocking the next, and young people will need to use a number of skills to enable their team to achieve the final task. 

Finally, they learn about codebreaking in the modern world and the careers linked to these.

Young people are introduced to the topic of innovation and thinking outside of the box, using real world examples of the engineering design cycle to inspire them to solve a real life engineering problem of their own. 

By coming up with an idea for a new product, developing this and presenting their idea to the rest of the group, they will understand the many opportunities that a career in creativity can offer, as well as the skills needed to work in a team and how to play to everyone's strengths.

A quiz using audience response system 'Qwizdom' to give a competitive flair. Students work in teams to establish the correct answer and earn enough points to be the winner on a range of topics linked to STEM.

 Questions include short puzzles or calculations, facts and figures, observation questions or general knowledge. In addition, Qwizdom can be used to evaluate students' understanding of a topic, and bespoke quizzes can be written to suit individual clients' requirements.

Miniature electric cars are built to demonstrate some of the principles of gears, before the young people then use the cars to understand the relationship between voltage input and distance travelled. 

They then use this knowledge to perform a series of tests to draw up a graph, and a line of best fit if applicable, with the intention of getting their team's car to stop closest to a specified distance.

Young people are introduced to modern uses of robotics before they are tasked with using a Sphero robot to rescue a person who has been injured in a disaster zone. 

They must code their Sphero to avoid the obstacles and navigate to the casualty, before sounding the alarm and rushing back to alert rescuers.
