  • Why should I choose ElevationX?
Our team has been working in school outreach for many years in a multitude of different manners. We pride ourselves on giving a high quality and professional service, with our staff selected based on the quality of their delivery in a classroom. All team members understand how life works in a school, and are friendly, approachable and flexible.
  • Are your employees DBS checked?
Yes, all student-facing staff have undergone an enhanced DBS check, and DBS numbers and dates will be provided to you in advance of your booking. A letter of assurance will also be sent to you prior to the booking to confirm that the deliverer has undergone all the necessary checks and training. All staff have up-to-date safeguarding training.
  • Do you only do STEM workshops?
No, we deliver a range of workshops on many different topics such as motivation, geography, healthy living and sport, however we find that STEM is one of the most popular areas. In the past our staff have delivered workshops in many different topics and areas; as the educational professionals, we are able to deliver an engaging message on a range of topics, so if there is a particular subject you are interested in then please get in touch.
  • Does a teacher need to be in the room?
We ask that a member of school staff is present for the duration of the activities to comply with safeguarding best practice and to manage behaviour, as our staff cannot be responsible for enforcing school policies and procedures and cannot count towards ratios.
  • What age groups do you work with?
We will happily work with any age group over the age of 5, including Years 1 to 13 and at any type of educational institution including SEND schools. We can even cater for groups of adults for team building days.
  • What group size do you work with?
In general, we ask that group sizes are no larger than 30, however we can accommodate larger groups for some of our workshops by bringing additional equipment or staff if this is made clear upon booking.
  • What areas do you cover?
We cover the entire UK including Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands, however some areas will incur additional charges due to travel. In these circumstances, it may be beneficial for you to team up with other local schools- this could allow us to spread travel costs out between multiple organisations, and we will be happy to facilitate the logistics of this.
  • Can the workshops be adapted to include the topics I’m currently teaching?
If you have a particular topic that you are currently teaching, our booking staff can recommend a workshop that most closely links with this subject. In addition, ElevationX delivery staff are happy to include a small number of minor additional details, facts or information into their workshops upon request so that we can make the workshop relevant to your group- we just ask that you notify us upon booking. Bespoke workshops or activities can be designed if required, which are priced upon request.
  • What do I need to prepare?
Our staff will bring all the resources and items needed for the workshop, and all you need to provide is a suitable space and a member of staff to supervise. We ask that the room has power, and where possible a projector and screen; if this is not available then please inform us in advance so that we can bring additional equipment. We will need access to the space roughly one hour before the session starts, and will require around half an hour to pack away again at the end of the session.
  • How much does it cost?
We charge based on the number of delivery staff that you require, with each staff member able to run one workshop at a time. As a general guide our prices start from £650+VAT for one member of staff for schools within an hour and a half’s drive of Derby. Discounts are available for multiple bookings, and if you have a specified budget, we are happy to put together a plan that aligns with this.
  • How soon should I make a booking?
If you have a particular date in mind then please get in touch as soon as possible so that we can hold your date; our busiest times are the summer term and British Science Week. For all other dates we usually book up around four to six weeks in advance, however we can sometimes accommodate last minute bookings. Please get in touch to discuss.
  • Do you work in SEN schools or alternative provision?
Yes. For groups of students with additional needs, we will discuss their precise requirements with you in advance, and where practical, tweak our workshop materials or delivery styles to suit the group. We do not charge additional fees for doing so, however if a greater level of adaption is needed this may come at an additional cost.
  • Do you work with home-schooled students or community groups?
Yes, we are happy to work with home educated groups, providing you have the space available- we cannot work in private homes. We welcome bookings from community groups, and offer heavily discounted prices for Girl guiding groups for specified workshops, dates and locations. Please get in touch to discuss.
